The Groovy Gang and their friends are back with some fantastic live music!
Headlining is The Groovy Arts Club Band
The hosts of this groovy evening will be closing the evening, Mark Hull on guitar; Marcel McClarnon on bass; Eddie Edwards on drums & David Stephenson on lead vocals & harmonica. Known for their entertaining & energetic sets the ‘Groovies’ celebrate 1960s/70s Art & Music with their original songs plus a few appropriately-chosen covers.
Starting off the evening is Handbags & Gladrags
Originally a trio consisting of leader Mark Hull (guitar & vocals) with violinist Suzie Bishop & bassist Kevin Wiggins, they now feature the ubiquitous Eddie Edwards on drums & for this gig might well add one or two more singers. Lots to look forward to, with original songs & some choice covers, including ‘Handbags & Gladrags’ (of course!) & quite possibly a Christmas number!
In the middle are Mel & Marcel
who are the much-loved & appreciated Melanie Winning & Marcel McClarnon of Manningtree & Man In Tree Records; they have just released their songs on a USB stick – available from Winyl shop, South Street. Expect superb songs tackling burning & relevant issues: war, growing old, scars, anger & Sinead O’Connor (RIP).
